A MAN has died after he was hit by a lorry in Quarry Bank this afternoon (Tuesday).

The incident happened in Thorns Road at around 3.30pm.

West Midlands Ambulance Service sent an ambulance, a paramedic in a rapid response vehicle and a paramedic officer to the scene but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “Despite the efforts of ambulance staff, it quickly became apparent that nothing could be done to save the man.”
