KIND-HEARTED TV enthusiasts group Kaleidoscope continued its loyal support for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution by stepping back in time to sell some unique 1960s retro products.
The group has already raised in excess of £20,000 for the Stourbridge branch of the RNLI since forming back in 1994, and members added to that total after setting up a retro shop at the Talbot Hotel.
Kaleidoscope members got into the spirit by dressing up in 1960s attire for the occasion and they pulled out all the stops to source Double Diamond and Watneys Ales in retro glass bottles.
The group also obtained sweets and chocolate bars in their original packaging including Marathon and Picnic bars and Wrigley's KP gum.
Simon Winters, one of the organisers, said: "The Talbot was packed and all the chocolate bars were sold out within three minutes. That was despite the fact that we limited the number of bars people could purchase. In fact we simply didn't have enough of them.
"Because the chocolate bars were all in their authentic wrappers, I think people were desperate to get hold of them as Christmas stocking fillers.
"As a group we try to hold four fundraising events for the RNLI and their volunteer crews every year."
Kaleidoscope television has recently been awarded a deal by OFCOM to supply local TV to the Midlands which will appear on Freeview Channel 8 in February.
