THE driver of a car which burst into flames at Audnam last night had a lucky escape.
Firefighters from Stourbridge Fire Station were quickly on the scene and managed to put out the blaze which has been attributed to an overheating engine.
The incident, captured on camera by Adrian Hill, happened on the main A491 close to Powis & Partners veterinary surgery, just after 6pm on Monday August 9.
A spokesman for West Midlands Fire Service said: "One fire engine from Stourbridge Fire Station, responded in under five minutes to a car on fire on Audnam, Stourbridge.
"The driver of the vehicle was out prior to our attendance and suffered no injuries.
"Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel.
"The fire was attributed to an overheating engine."
