A MAN was taken to hospital in a critical condition after a car crash at the Merry Hill shopping centre yesterday afternoon.
The incident, involving just one vehicle, happened near to the junction of The Boulevard and The Embankment just after 2pm.
The emergency services flooded the scene with West Midlands Ambulance Service sending two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor, with a Critical Care Paramedic, to the scene after being alerted at 2.09pm.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the driver of the car.
“The man was found in a critical condition and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support before transporting the patient to Russell’s Hall Hospital.”
