A TEENAGER stamped on his pregnant girlfriend’s stomach after she told him she wanted to keep their unplanned baby, a court heard.
James Chattaway and Daisy Glazebrook were shocked when their two-year romance resulted in an unexpected pregnancy, and they arranged for a termination.
But Chattaway became incensed when she sent him a text message saying she had changed her mind.
He then went to her home in Winds Point, Hagley, where he climbed in through a window and attacked her on the doorstep - stamping on her stomach.
Chattaway, aged 19, of Belbroughton Road, Blakedown, admitted assaulting 17-year-old Miss Glazebrook causing her actual bodily harm but he was cleared of breaking into her home.
Recorder Andrew Hatton remanded Chattaway on bail until April 19, and told the defendant prison was a possibility.
Worcester Crown Court heard the pair had been in a relationship for two years.
Recorder Hatton said Chattaway was intending to go to university and his girlfriend was taking her A-levels when she became pregnant.
They were shocked at the discovery and went together to arrange an abortion.
But later Chattaway received a text that she had changed her mind and wanted to have the baby. He then went to her home and got in through a window.
The court heard he realised he was not welcome, but he only wanted to talk to her.
However - the jury of eight men and four women were also told that in a confrontation witnesses saw him stamp three times on the girl. Red marks were seen on her stomach area when she went to hospital, but the baby was not hurt.
Chattaway claimed he had only kicked the girl and had not intended to hurt her.
