GLASS treasures sold at a Stourbridge auction have raised £7,100 for the British Glass Foundation.
Collectors and glass artists from across the country and overseas donated an array of items for the Five Centuries of Glass Sale held at Fieldings Auctioneers in Mill Race Lane on Saturday April 9.
Items going under the hammer to raise funds for the BGF included a Keith Murray vase, donated by glass collector Dr Graham Cooley, which sold for £1,000.
The money will help the Foundation to fight for the preservation of the borough’s glass collection based at Broadfield House.
Chairman Graham Knowles said “Everything must be done to ensure future generations can enjoy the 400-year glass heritage of the Stourbridge and Dudley collections.”
