PROVIDERS of activities for disabled children have got the chance to put in their bid for a share of cash from Dudley Council.
Bids of up to £499 are being sought from organisations which provide children with new and exciting opportunities while enabling parents to have a break from caring.
The council is looking for organisations that offer daytime, evening and weekend activity breaks, but particularly activities which are provided throughout the school holidays.
Councillor Tim Crumpton, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “We are urging providers to come forward and take advantage of the funding on offer at this time and make an application.
“Parents of disabled children need a break every now and then to recharge their batteries. Providers and groups help facilitate this time apart by offering activities for their children in a safe environment.”
Potential providers include small charities, community and faith groups as well as youth organisations who can offer short break activities for disabled children.
