CLAPTRAP in Stourbridge will be hosting an audiovisual treat for fans of cult and horror cinema next Thursday (September 14).
Fusing John Carpenter’s film scores with Giorgio Moroder’s pulsating EDM sequencing, and performing live to newly-created sci-fi-inflected psychotropic visuals, Agents of Evolution will be bringing their own brand of cinematic electronic soundtracks to the High Street venue.
Having broken out of their home studio and online roots early in 2017 to support ex-Visage synth-pop luminary Rusty Egan, Æ have been building up something of a reputation for themselves in the region.
With a lineage that connects them to local 90s favourites Emission and Mercenary Tree Freaks (who respectively supported bands such as Ned’s Atomic Dustbin and Blur), the Agents have also begun making a mark internationally - their original 30-minute video soundtrack premiered to audiences in Bangkok during March’s Flatpack Asia film-sound festival.
Agents of Evolution will be playing a new 50-minute set at Claptrap (formerly Scary Canary) from 9pm.
Entry is free from 7pm.
