As expected the competition was won by Jeremy Fallowfield with a perfect 9 out of 9. Second place went to newcomer Nick Arkell with 8/9. Greg Dyett was third with 6/9. On Wednesday the Stourbridge second team put in a great performance away against Boldmere in division 3 of the Birmingham league.
Although they were heavily out-graded on every board, they won the match 3½-2½ with John Foxall winning his game and all the other team members drawing.
On January 9 the club will be holding a new year’s blitz tournament at the Stourbridge institute, starting at 7:30pm. All members, friends and prospective members are welcome to come along and play.
