STOURBRIDGE boss Gary Hackett has strengthened his options out wide with a double swoop.
Wingers Greg Mills and Robert Thompson-Brown have both linked up with the Glassboys for next season.
Leicester-born Mills, 27, is a skilful and direct left-sided winger who can also play through the middle.
He started out his career at Derby County where he progressed through their ranks to go on and make two first team appearances with his debut in2009. He also spent time on loan with Solihull Moors, Macclesfield Town and AFC Telford United.
Following his release by the Rams, he signed for AFC Telford United in August 2011, but with his opportunities limited, he subsequently joined Worcester City in January 2012.
He has since played for clubs including Boston United, King’s Lynn, Corby, Tamworth, Nuneaton and Darlington. Mills is now relocating to the West Midlands area, which has allowed Hackett to agree terms for his services for the season ahead.
Thompson-Brown, 25, arrives from Stafford Rangers and can also provide width.
He started out in the youth system at Kidderminster Harriers before spells at Redditch United and Stratford Town.
He has also featured for Nuneaton, Hednesford, Redditch United, Halesowen Town and Leamington.
Thompson-Brown netted six times in 22 appearances for Leamington last season before joining Stafford Rangers in December 2017 in search of more regular starts and subsequently helped them to lift the Staffordshire Senior Cup in April.
Hackett said: “I’m delighted to have been able to agree deals with Rob and Greg. We didn’t score enough goals last season and were perhaps too reliant on one or two players to find the net for us. Both Rob and Greg are capable of chipping in with a good number of goals as well as hopefully laying on chances for others.”
The manager has also moved to retain a number of key players from last season’s squad.
Aris Christophorou, Paul McCone, Jack Duggan, Kaiman Anderson, Brad Birch, Louis Hall and Brandon Hague join Darryl Westlake in committing to for the 2018/19 campaign.
Exciting prospects Jake Evans, James Timmins, Alex Cameron, Tom Edmonds-Hill and Peter Hawk will all be part of the first team squad after impressing at youth level.
Goalkeeper Matt Gould and striker Luke Shearer have now left the club.
