A PROGRESSIVE new Stourbridge theatrical group is getting set to premiere its first show.
Stourbridge Writers and Actors Group (SWAG) will present Downside Abbey at Gig Mill Methodist Church Hall, Witton Street, Stourbridge, on Friday May 3 and Saturday May 4 at 7.30pm.
The play, a comedy drama full of love, romance, murder, suspicion, intrigue and double entendres, has been written and directed by founder member, Sean Harris who started the group with David Robertson and Simon Faux at the end of 2018 with the aim of producing new and original material for a local audience, using local actors.
Sean said: “I’ve had Downside Abbey written for quite a while, and I have been looking to get it on a local stage for about 12 months, but with no luck. "Having chatted to local author and playwright, David Robertson, we decided that we should set-up our own production company.
"We needed someone with a technical background, so we got our colleague Simon Faux on-board, and SWAG was born.”
