AS line-ups for summer festivals are finalised the Base Sessions is looking back to 2014 with indie rockers The Hives.
The Swedish band with a sense of the sartorial, who are regarded by many as a storming live act, have already been confirmed for London’s Calling Festival on Saturday July 4.
To mark The Hives’ return to the UK The Base Sessions team has raided the archives for a previously unseen video interview with the band.
The Hives reveal all about their song-writing and producing process, which can take anything from 35 minutes to a year-and-a-half, during a backstage chat at the 2014 Reading Festival.
The band released a new song, Blood Red Moon, on February 13 for the movie Cirkeln which tells the story of witches in a town they say bears an uncanny resemblance to their native Fagersta.
The Hives also tell reporter Scott Garrett how they are huge fans of playing live, even though this can mean early starts and long days on the road to get to gigs away from their homeland.
The Base Sessions is recorded and produced by Base Studios in Stourbridge.
