JONGO is a musician and songwriter from Birmingham who gets his inspiration from his roots as the product of a diverse multicultural society.
His music reflects a wide variety of influences which makes it a heady mix of funk, disco and soul with a flavor of the middle-east thrown in for good measure.
His self-titled debut album was released just over a year ago and Jongo says it became the template for his musical direction. The album placed Jongo on the midland’s musical map and it’s follow up, called, Underground, is set to be released at the end of the year.
While it follows the musical style of Jongo, the singer says his latest offering has bigger production values and utilises new elements including a big band feel.
Jongo is planning to hit the road for live dates starting with shows in the midlands before moving further afield in the UK and Europe.
