FEIRD Wish are Black Country boys on a mission to capital-ise on their talent with a big London gig.
The four-piece who are all students at King Edward VI College in Stourbridge have scooped a place in the national finals of the Blastbeat Education competition on Tuesday October 25.
The boys took time out from rehearsals to talk with the Base Sessions team about their big gig and life in the Feird Wish world.
Feird Wish hail from Brierley Hill and have been together since 2009, they have built a solid reputation as a versatile band who are equally at home playing original songs or covers.
Henry Cluney, from punk legends Stiff Little Fingers, said: “Great band, they supported me at Stourbridge and I loved ‘em. Very tight and it’s great to see a young band with original material as strong as this.
“My advice....catch them now before it costs ten times as much to see them.”
Feird Wish will be up against 20 bands from around the UK when the play at the Blastbeat finals at the Indigo2 Arena in London, in the O2 Arena.
The band took their place in the final after winning through two Midland’s heats and the show will be a step up for the group, who say their musical highlight to date is a performance at the Himley Music Festival in front of 500 people.
Feird Wish are planning to take two coaches of supporters to the Indigo2 Arena, and have 100 free tickets to give away.
