WORCESTER rockers New Chapter are rounding off a big debut year with a gig in the home of heavy metal.
The band is set for a show at Base Studios in Stourbridge on Friday December 23 and have been telling the Base Sessions team about their short but speedy journey onto the Midland music scene.
New Chapter was born in June 2011 after singer Nicola Hardy teamed up with musicians Ben Hampton, Pete Macbeth and Richie Bryan on a mission to create a new sound.
They combined punk riffs, a mix of indie and metal with an occasional slower song to create a sound which instantly got them noticed on the live circuit.
Nicola Hardy said: "We have gigged constantly and got festivals such as Bridge Bash and B-fest under our belts. We were lucky enough to bag the second main support act for Dodgy even though we were a new band....this we're proud of."
New Chapter's work has also been noticed by BBC Hereford and Worcester DJ Andy O'Hare.
He said: "I've seen many bands try and fail to do the girly punk thing....yet New Chapter get it right."
