A STOURBRIDGE singer-songwriter is following in the steps of The Beatles after being invited to perform at Liverpool’s iconic Cavern Club.
Mark Britton will take to the famous stage as part of this year’s International Pop Overthrow Festival in May.
The festival, which has been running for the past seventeen years, starts in Arizona and makes its way across the United States, venturing on to Stockholm and then Liverpool between May 17 and 24, where it will feature more than 100 retro power pop acts.
Mark said: “I’m thrilled to have the chance to play at a venue that started so much of the music that influences me and I’m really looking forward to hearing so much fantastic music from all those other acts.”
His 2014 debut solo album, Odds and Sodd, attracted international critical praise, as well as winning ‘Album of the Month’ in West Midlands’ music magazine, Ryan’s Gig Guide.
Some of Mark’s retro pop tracks are available to be downloaded for free from his website at www.markbritton.net, or for more about the festival visit internationalpopoverthrow.com
