DOORS are opening for Stourbridge singer/songwriter Timothy Parkes who has landed himself a slot on an album produced by and featuring The Wonder Stuff’s Miles Hunt.
Timothy, who has been performing his alternative indie rock ditties in and around the town for nearly a decade, is over the moon at being included on the recording called Shared - named after a gig that Stourbridge pop star Miles put on at Birmingham Town Hall earlier this year.
The 29-year-old’s tracks Witchcraft, Holes and Looks Like Rain sit alongside acoustic numbers by The Wonder Stuff frontman and his stage partner Erica Nockalls and the likes of Wayne Hussey from The Mission and Dirty Ray (The Immaculate Fools).
Timothy told the News: “I feel very honoured to be featured on an album with so many great musicians, and the opportunity has already begun opening other doors for me.”
The recording - which will be available on general release on IRL records in August - also features singer songwriters Rob Dunsford and Matthew Derek.
Tim, who met Miles at an open mic night at a Shropshire pub before becoming a regular opening act for the former chart star, added: “Working with friends and people that were idolised by youths as I grew up is immense fun, and inspiring in itself.”
Shared is being launched at The Horseshoe Inn, Bridges, Rattlinghope, near Shrewsbury, Shropshire, at an all-day party on Saturday July 25 - running from midday to midnight.
Timothy will be taking to the stage at around 8.30pm.
Admission is £5.
