BLACK Country performers are getting set for a series of live events to raise cash for cancer patients.
Loz Hipkiss and Brian Dakin (aka Billy Spakemon), who perform poetry and songs from the region under the name Roosterspake, are setting out on a mini tour of venues around the area to raise funds for Sue Dakin Celebration of Life Fund.
Sue, Brian's wife, lost her battle with breast cancer in December 2007 and the tour is the first of a series of events throughout this year to raise money for the cancer care unit at Sandwell Hospital, plus other groups involved in the fight against the killer disease.
Ralph Moore, Pete Boddis, Louise Stokes, John Edgar and Phil Parton and Emmi will be joining Loz and Billy for a series of free gigs starting at The Bonded Warehouse in Stourbridge on Friday May 23.
