HEAVY metal band Oxzide are reaping the rewards of honing their talents with an invitation to a major festival.
The band, whose roots are planted firmly in the rock heartlands of Stourbridge and Dudley, are set to perform at the Glastonbudget 2009 event in Leicestershire which runs for three days from Friday May 22.
The festival, which is not related to the Glastonbury event, is in its fifth year and attracts thousands of visitors to see a host of top tribute acts and new bands.
Revellers can spend a day or the entire weekend camping at the festival which takes place at Turnpost Farm, Wymeswold.
Oxzide will be among around 100 new bands at the festival after a storming set at an audition which won the band an instant invitation to perform at Glastonbudget.
Formed in early 2006 Oxzide have built a strong reputation for putting on a powerful live show which includes classic covers and plenty of original songs from their debut album, Really Not Insane.
The Glastonbudget event will kick start a busy summer for the as yet unsigned band who have shows booked around the Midlands area and beyond for the remainder of the year.
