POST-punk band Magazine are cited by songwriters ranging from Miles Hunt to Morrissey as a major influence.

Frontman Howard Devoto co-formed the Buzzcocks with Pete Shelley after the pair had seen The Sex Pistols in early 1976 and promoted the now legendary Manchester Lesser Free Trade Hall gigs.

After parting ways with Shelley a year later, Devoto formed Magazine and released the anthem Shot By Both Sides which was followed by four ground-breaking albums.

Magazine reformed in 2009 to critical acclaim and sold-out live shows which prompted the release of a live DVD and CD entitled Real Life + Thereafter: Live at Manchester Academy 17.02.09.

Magazine will be live on stage at Wolverhampton’s Slade Rooms on Thursday June 30.
