AMBLECOTE'S Glass-house Theatre is teaming up with the Birmingham Rep to present an explosive new play set in Uganda.
Bulletproof Soul, a powerful drama about child soldiers, family, friendship and betrayal by acclaimed playwright Jennifer Farmer, is being staged at the Wollaston Road theatre at 7.30pm on Friday March 23 and Saturday March 24.
Cassie Joseph, who appeared at The Rep in teen drama Low Dat' stars as Rena; a 17-year-old who, after getting kicked out by her parents, winds up at a Ugandan school for ex-child soldiers - where she meets Alice (played by Nigerian-born Demi Oyediran). But as their friendship develops, so does the risk of betrayal.
Directed by Natasha Betteridge, the play stops off at the Glasshouse on its tour of Midlands as part of Birmingham Repertory Theatre's annual Door on Tour programme.
Tickets for the show cost £7/£5 and are available from the box office on 01384 399430 or www.ruskin-mill.org.uk.
