STOURBRIDGE Lions slumped to a 28-18 reverse at Old Leamingtonians and slipped back to fifth spot in Midlands 2 West South as a result.
Having suffered two recent defeats to Old Leams, Lions took the game to their hosts looking for revenge, but found their defence especially solid.
Once Old Leams achieved parity in the pack, the Lions obtained very little ball, while the hosts made the most of their chances to put the issue out of sight.
Lions staged a late revival and snapped up three unconverted tries, two of which were supplied by winger Danny Cox with James Mitchell adding a third, Sam Wilson providing the remaining points with a solitary penalty.
The Lions will need to adopt a more clinical approach when they entertain top of the table Earlsdon at Stourton Park for a 2-15pm kick off, when all support is welcome
