STOURBRIDGE can secure a hard-fought place in the Southern League play-offs this weekend.
The Glassboys will travel to Hitchin for the last game of the season knowing a draw would be enough to give them a top five finish.
Back-to-back bank holiday wins have put the Amblecote outfit firmly in control of their fate.
A second-half strike from captain Sean Geddes was enough to give them a brilliant 1-0 away victory against second-placed Chesham last Saturday.
They then backed that up by putting five past Banbury United at the Memorial Ground on Monday as they maintained their charge.
The Glassboys cruised to the 5-0 victory that ensured a draw at Hitchin should be enough for a play-off place.
Sixth-placed Hungerford's 3-2 win against Chippenham on the same day means the gap between them stays at two points with just one game left to play. However, Stourbridge boast a far superior goal difference.
That goal tally was made all the more impressive after Monday's comfortable display.
A brace from Kayelden Brown and other goals from Leon Broadhurst, Junior Smikle and Ben Billingham saw Stour ease to the win.
Glassboys boss Gary Hackett says his side know nothing has been achieved yet and will go out and attack at Hitchin.
"It has been a good week for us. It is now in our own hands," he said. "However, anything can happen in football and the players are very aware of that. They know what the target is and they know what they need to do.
"There is no way we will go to Hitchin looking for a draw. We are going there to win the game, as we always do. We will not underestimate them because they have beaten some very good sides this season."
Stourbridge are waiting on the fitness of Luke Benbow. His hamstring injury will be reassessed later this week.
