Louis Gaskin, one of new Year 7’s at Pedmore Technology College is already a budding entrepreneur and has chosen Pedmore over other secondary schools in the Stourbridge area. Louis lists one of the major reasons for his choice as the recent Enterprise initiatives the school have achieved recently. This includes their students pop up shop "Lip Varvi" in Stourbridge town centre last year and their new GCSE in Business Enterprise, starting in Year 9.
Louis began making items with his grandmother when he was 7 and had a sewing machine for a Christmas present. The young entrepreneur quickly saw an opportunity to turn it into an enterprising business, Lou’s Threads.
Louis sells the creations at local craft fairs and was recently spotted by BBC presenter Michael Collie from BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester at a Shrewsbury show. Click below to hear Michael Collie’s Sunday Morning Breakfast Show as he talks about Louis.
