A FORMER Stourbridge News journalist has published an ebook inviting people to find out how they can give their health a boost - by putting pen to paper.
Lyn Alderson has written an ebook 'The Write Therapy: How Keeping a Journal Can Make You Happier, Healthier and More Productive' - which she has self-published in the Amazon Kindle Store.
Lyn, now a freelance writer, wrote the book after stumbling across scientific literature on the internet - hailing the health benefits of journaling and how putting down thoughts on paper can boost the immune system a boost, helping people with a host of medical conditions including high blood pressure, asthma, arthritis, cancer, lupus, IBS and depression.
Halesowen born and bred Lyn said: "I have always loved writing, and since childhood I’ve put my deepest feelings down on paper.
“I knew that writing was a good way to let off steam, but it was good to learn the science behind journal therapy.
“When I realised so many people could benefit I wanted to share this information with a wider audience.
“Research shows that writing can make you happier and healthier- and it can boost academic performance and memory too.
“My book gives lots of practical tips on how to start a therapeutic journal. You don’t have to be an amazing writer to reap the health benefits."
Former News features writer Lyn now lives in Shropshire and is married to a farmer.
The book is available on Amazon Kindle.
