Blackheath in the heart of the Midlands boasts everything you could possibly want.
Restaurants, shops, accommodation and pubs are just some of the things visitors to the area can take advantage of, but the one thing that you simply cannot miss out on is Blackheath Market.
Dating back to before the turn of the century, the market was nothing more than a handful of stalls between two shops and was owned by Llyods Estates.
In 1913 Buffalo Bill's Wild Circus took over, displaying tricks and talents for the public, until in 1978 the area was bought by a consortium of stallholders, who over the last twenty two years have worked together to develop what is now a thriving market with plenty to offer. Open Mondays 9am till 4.30pm, Fridays and Saturdays 9am till 5pm, customers can find everything from Sally's Café offering hot and cold sandwiches, desserts, crisps, paninis and cakes, to J. Halfcastings ornate plaster castings - coving, dado rails, ceiling roses, niches, picture panels and decorated plaques for low cost prices.
Second hand clothing stores, lingerie stands, footwear, sports wear and domestic electrical goods stores can also be found, stock up on ankle highs, tights and stockings from Kaz's Hoisery Specialists or indulge in delicious confectionary and treat that sweet tooth from Maggies UK Ltd.
For all you technology whizzes out there The Com Port has everything you need for computer systems, while for those who prefer to get out into the fresh air and sample natures delights, Blackheath Fishing Tackle store stocks poles, rods, seat boxes, holdalls and umbrellas.
Keep the kids entertained with branded toys, Bratz dolls, jigsaw puzzles and all the latest crazes from Paul's Toys and Haberdashery and get them everything they need for school from Sue's Stationary.
With Mother's Day just around the corner, Blackheath Market can even help out with the presents in the shape of Pam's Flowers. Gorgeous fresh and silk flowers to help make the day a special one.
What's more, if you have anything to offer, the market has a small number of stalls available for hire.
Call 0121 559 8006 for more information or visit today - you don't know what you're missing.
Why not bring the whole family down to the market and take advantage of special offers, friendly market stall holders and find something for all the family.
