A couple who ran an Oldbury medical practice have been celebrating a diamond day after a lifetime helping patients.
Dr Jack Baker and his wife Peggy, both aged 85, marked 60 years of marriage with family and 50 friends at a party in Clent.
Dr Baker was a GP in Oldbury for 35 years, working with Peggy who helped run their surgery in Dog Kennel Lane, he also sat as a magistrate in the area for 21 years.
Jack saw war service in the Royal Army Medical Corps before moving into general practice.
The diamond duo from School Lane met when Jack was a medical student and Peggy was working in a bank, they married at St Peter's Church in Harbourne.
They honeymooned in Cornwall and have travelled extensively during their married life to many holiday destinations.
The couple spent their anniversary day on Thursday February 22, celebrating with their two sons and five grandchildren.
Peggy said: "We have been very lucky, we keep active and have good family and friends.
"It's important to meet the right person at the right time, we have lived and worked together and always got on."
