A Halesowen couple celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary with two parties.
George and Beryl Bell met 60 years ago by chance in Sutton Park in Sutton Coldfield.
Beryl and her friend were walking around the park when they bumped into two RAF airmen who were stationed in the town. They spent the day together talking and George asked Beryl to meet him again the following day.
The couple kept in touch and met up most days.
Beryl said: " When George came out of the forces he moved to be near me instead of moving back home to Retford."
They married at Holy Trinity Church in Birchfields and had their honeymoon in London.
The fun loving pair, who now live at Linden Glade, Stourbridge Road and have one son, treated the residents to a party at the local pub on their anniversary and then had a party with family a few days later.
Beryl, 79, and George, 86, say the secret to a happy marriage is give and take.
