"IF you look under 21 and you haven't got a passport or driving licence we dont want you in Stourbridge" - that's the message from the town's pubwatch boss.
Mark McMaster, owner of Glass in Foster Street, says Stourbridge pub bosses and the police have launched a zero tolerance' policy on young-looking pubgoers to try and stamp out under age drinking in the town.
According to police, incidents of disorder have shot up in the town in recent months and many of those arrested have been under 18.
So taking no chances now, bosses at all the main town venues - Chicago Rock Cafe, Que Pasa, Lloyds, Glass and The Picturehouse - will be turning away anyone who looks under 21 and who is unable to produce a valid passport or photo card driving licence as ID.
Mr McMaster told the News: "This is a zero tolerance policy - there's been a lot of young people coming into town.
"So from now on if you look under 21 and haven't got either a passport or driving licence with you, you will be turned away."
Pc Scott Turley, Dudley South Police licensing officer, said: "The reason behind this is that over the last three or four months the incidents of disorder have increased - but most alarming is the fact that quite a high percentage of people involved in these incidents have been people of a very young age - a lot below 18, therefore we want to eradicate it."
Large capacity venue bosses say they will not be accepting any other proof of age cards as they can easily be copied.
The acceptable only form of ID is a valid passport or photo card driving licence.
