A HAGLEY school is well on the way to completing a £10m makeover after the demolition of old buildings.
The former school hall, library, canteen and staff room were levelled earlier this month after standing for 30 years at Heybridge High School.
Redevelopment of the Brake Lane site, featuring an ICT complex, library, school hall, restaurant and business studies area, is expected to be completed by September.
A new 18-classroom facility was opened last year and a new sixth form centre is planned for the old maths building.
Mark Pollard, assistant headteacher, said: "Both staff and students have been touched by a little nostalgia as the old heart of the school was demolished before our eyes, giving a clear view of what the new campus will look like.
"The school has adopted a very hands on approach to the whole scheme relating to the enlargement of the Heybridge campus, to enable it to occupy a single site."
