Having been founded in 1947, 2007 is the society's 60th anniversary year.
The new year began with a swing with an exhibition in the Red House Glass Cone, Wordsley from the January 6 until the February 2.
The society was invited to use a small room upstairs where we were able to exhibit fewer paintings than usual, but it proved to be an excellent venue and was of a high standard.
On Friday, January 26, at the first meeting of the society for the new year, we were pleased to welcome over40 members and visitors.
Tony Yates RBSA, from Harbourne, gave a demonstration of his distinct style and method of oil painting.
On Friday, February 23, at our second monthly meeting, Brian Fletcher RBSA, a friend of and frequent visitor to the society gave a new talk, illustrated with slides of his own work and that of other local artists, on 'Art in the Black Country'.
More than 40 people attended, to enjoy another inspiring evening.
Our next meeting will be on Friday, March 30, at Kingswinford Community Centre at 7.30 p.m.
Michael Salt will demonstrate, 'Painting Landscapes in Oils.' Two further exhibitions are also planned for March and May.
We look forward to seeing many members, friends at the meeting.
Visitors are very welcome, with a view to joining the Society.
