LYE Historical Society met with members at Ghosia Mosque to promote the idea of joining communities together.
The meeting was organised by Mohammed Hanif following the success of the Lye's first Mela festival.
Lye Historical Society set up a stall to show their support of the festival, which was popular and attracted alot of interest.
Mr Hanif thought it would be a good idea to set up a visit to a mosque to bring together different cultural groups and promote a greater understanding of religions and communities.
He said: "The visit will aim to give understanding of the Muslim faith, people will see how prayers, extensive teaching of the Holy Koran and other religious activities are conducted in the mosque."
This will be the first meeting and following this success hopefully similar exchanges in the future will focus on community unity and harmony.
Secretary of Lye Ghosia mosque Mohammed Zarab said: "We are delighted to welcome any community groups who wish to visit the mosque and to see how its activities work."
