VOLUNTARY groups across the borough still have the chance to apply for funding for projects that help vulnerable people in the community.
Groups are encouraged to get their applications for a slice of Dudley Council's Small Grants Scheme in as soon as possible - the deadline for entries is March 30.
A total of £45,290 is available this year.
The scheme, which last year saw grants ranging from £200 to nearly £2,000 dished out to 85 organisations, is aimed at groups that provide leisure or social activities looking to extend services to include the elderly and people with disabilities.
Money is available to help with running costs, buying equipment and training expenses.
Groups benefitting last year included women's support group KUSHI; Black Country Talking Newspapers and Upper Gornal Pensioner's Club.
Councillor Peter Miller, cabinet member for adult and community services said: "We are committed to supporting the invaluable work that voluntary groups and volunteers carry out in Dudley.
"The small grants scheme is a great way for these groups to access small amounts of money that can make a real big difference. This funding could help allow disabled and vulnerable older people take part in all kinds of activities and I would like to encourage all eligible groups to get their applications in as soon as possible."
