A HAGLEY couple celebrated a diamond day after a lifetime helping patients at their medical practice.
Dr Jack Baker and his wife Peggy, both aged 85, marked 60 years of marriage with family and 50 friends at a party in Clent.
Dr Baker was a GP in Warley for 35 years, working with Peggy who helped run their surgery in Dog Kennel Lane, Peggy also sat as a magistrate for 21 years.
Jack saw war service in the Royal Army Medical Corps then moved into general practice.
The diamond duo from School Lane met when Jack was a medical student and Peggy was working in a bank, they married in Harbourne.
They honeymooned in Cornwall and have travelled extensively during their married life to many holiday destinations.
The couple spent their anniversary day on Thursday February 22, celebrating with their two sons and five grandchildren.
