So here we are aboard the aeroplane at Heathrow airport awaiting to undertake the journey that I thought would never come to fruition. The staff at Heathrow airport were absolutely magnificent in directing us where to go and after a coffuful with excess baggage and medical equipment, managed to arrange with the courier that no excess charge would be levied on our return journey. The journey to Hong Kong that I was dreading due to the 12 hour flight remarkably went very, very quickly and hardly noticed the journey at all purely I think because it was a night time fight and I slept for most of the journey. Richard my carer has been an absolute trooper and catered for my every need almost to a point of been over protective, I don't think I could of asked for a better carer. On landing at Hong Kong airport the staff were absolutely tremendous in pointing to us the places where to be. Then to my horror my powerchair had been delivered in the raised position as it had been with a previous airline. I knew how to get my chair back into the lowered position again as I had learned from previous experience. It was amazing to see how many officials were standing around my chair as though they were protecting it for some reason We then went on to try and find our taxi driver with our names on a reception board, after some considerable time managed to find him only to find out the transport had no ramp and I had to lifted in to the rear seat of the taxi. On arrival at the hospital after passing through customs Hong Kong in to china there was some what of a delegation of people waiting for us to unload the wheel chair from the taxi and after getting me out of the taxi and into the power chair made our trek up to our room which by this time was 10.00 pm local time. Altogether we had been travelling for over 16/17 hours so understandably we were very tired. We got to bed at 12.30 midnight Shenzhen time and had thoughts about been not being able to sleep in a strange bed or strange environment, the next I knew it was 7.30 in the morning.
