Oldbury United came out on top in their derby with Causeway and boss Martin Thomas believes his team deserved to be victorious.
The Cricketts ended their recent poor run of form as they edged a tight game 3-2 thanks to goals from Nicky Pugh, Craig Gregg and Danny Hemmings on a tricky pitch.
The happy manager said: "We told the players that they had not become bad players overnight and I was delighted with the way we played our football after going behind."
Thomas singled out his midfielders Danny Yearwood and goalscorer Pugh for particular praise saying: "Danny and Nicky were exceptional and we won the game in midfield.
"We had to change things around after the run we have been on and it all worked really well."
United will host Atherstone at York Road on Saturday(kick off 3pm) and Thomas says that he expecting a tough game.
Meanwhile Causeway chairman Steve Hulston was upset with his team after the defeat.
Hulston had seen his side without a game for 10 days after the weather wiped out their last two fixtures but felt the players had let themselves down in the derby game.
He said: "We were dire.
"We went a goal up in the first 20 minutes and I thought we were going to stroll it, but then I have no idea what happened. It was awful."
United were due to face rock bottom Cradley on Wednesday at The Beeches before a free weekend which Hulston explained, would be used for team bonding. "We are having a day out," he said. "The whole squad is going paintballing. It will get everyone together and hopefully will be a good day."
