Second placed Dudley-K will aim to move within one point of guaranteeing second place in Midlands Division One at the weekend when third placed Dunstablians stop off.

After Saturday's last gasp victory away to Bedford Athletic and league leaders Luton's surprise defeat away at Longton, DK are now only one point off the top but a win over Saturday's visitors will give them a near on unsailable lead over them with only two games remaining.

DK press officer Peter Stinton is relishing the top of the table clash.

He said: "This is a massive game for us as we attempt to guarantee a second placed finish and a playoff slot because even though we are only one point behind Luton I can't see them slipping up again.

"I'm sure we will have a big crowd cheering us on and it would be great to see even more people down at Heathbrook for this huge match.

"It should be interesting because we are playing some good rugby again while Dunstablians have been struggling in the lead of late.

"They made it through to the last eight of the EDF Cup so it will be intriging to see if they are fully focused on this match."

Saturday's nail-biting 19-12 win away at Bedford came at a heavy cost however with influential skipper Peter Knight (pictured) picking up a serious knee injury.

The No 8 who has been an integral part in the club's promotion push dislocated his knee cap and is not expected to return until next season.

Peter added: "This was devastating news for Peter and the club.

"He has been excellent all season and he will be a massive loss.

"But Im sure his absence will help rally the boys even more for the remainder of the season."

DK are also expected to be without Ben Connett for the encounter(3pm kick off).

lFormer DK scrum half Shaun Perry came on as a late substitute for England on Sunday in their impressive 26-18 victory at Twickenham to keep their hopes alive of winning the Six Nations.
