STOURBRIDGE MP Lynda Waltho opened a new extension at Advanced Technology Centre at Brierley Hill's Waterfront.
Lynda made appearance on Tuesday March 20 to open Stourbridge College's new unit which will provide training places for students.
The expansion is due to a joint partnership agreement with support services and construction company Carillion.
Over the next three years Carillion and the college will be investing £3m in the new unit to help meet the demand for training places in trades including carpentry, joinery and brickwork.
The Advanced Technology Centre director Bob Howlett said: "We are delighted to open the new unit next door to our facility and it is the result of a unique partnership between the college and Carillion.
"There is a demand for places on these courses and we see that increasing, we are committed to building a competent workforce to meet the demand for skilled trades people in the future."
