Sedgley Working Mens Club made a dramatic last-ditch attempt to wrest the Premier Division Championship away from defending champions after defeating them.
They beat Brandhall Labour A 9-5 to go four points clear although they have only one game to play against Brandhall's two.
David Oakes cleared with 72 to beat Karl Ashmore and Mark Ganderton, Maria Catalano, Eliott Bastable and Darren Oakes completed the victory to leave the title race delicately poised.
Bearwood Cons 5-0 maximum against Central ensured a third place finish in their first season, while Stuart Amos, Paul Gibson and John Chester won for Dibdale A at Brandhall B to virtually guaranteed fourth place.
Pockets attempt to win the First Division Championship floundered when Mark Jeffries and Barry Young gave their visitors, Amblecote RBLA a 2-0 lead, but Paul Rouse, Alex Bowman with a break of 48 and Ian Barnes in the decider, edged Pocketts to a 3-2 win opening up an eight point lead over Amblecote Institute A, who were without a match.
Harts Hill Social looked likely to move into second place, but only Lee Whitehouse could win for them as Greg Reece, Stephen Small, Andrew Brown and Anthony Davies produced possibly the best result of the season for Kingswinford RBL.
In the Second Division the two Kinver Constitutional teams, which struggled for form in the first half of the season, upset the top two teams who have run away from the rest of the division.
At Langley Bowling Club, Dave Dowse and Alan Hadley won for the leaders, but Rob Jones, Graham Taylor and Steve Jones in the decider clinched the match for Kinver's C team 3-2.
Second placed Amblecote RBLB could not take advantage when only David Gilroy and Darren Waldron could win against Kinver's D team. Father and son, Graham and Mitchell Jones and John Jones (no relation) played well to take the match 3-2.
Central SC B won again and have a nine point advantage at the top of the Third Division, but they were made to struggle by Kingswinford Cons C. Daryl and Luke Garland and Mike Richards won for the leaders, but in a closely fought match, Alan Jeffries and Malcolm Lindop won for the Cons Amblecote Institute D defeated their C team 4-1 moving into second place thanks to Gerald Lyons, Colin Lewis, Richard Brookes and Richard Wooldridge and they have a three point lead over Kingswinford Cons.
A fourth successive victory for Stourbridge Institute C's veterans lifted them into a share of fifth place. Wally Allchurch, Tony Willetts, Don Oliver and Alan Cope won for the Institute and Stourbridge Cons B, although Roy Tromans lost on the black to Tom Hamilton.
Carl and Adrian Butcher both won to give Amblecote Institute F the prospect of their first win but Colin Alebon, Martin Davies and David Homer playing for the E team condemned them to another 3-2 defeat.
