TO celebrate their 50th year, The Gentleman Songsters will be sharing the stage with Pam Ayres.

The male voice choir will be joined by the popular poet and comedienne at Dudley Concert Hall this Saturday (March 24).

Berkshire-born national treasure Pam first appeared with the Songsters in 2000 and went down a treat.

This time, the evening will be compered by Black Country celebrity Professor Carl Chinn.

Songsters spokesman David Spinks said: "We look forward to another entertaining evening with Pam, and we are sure there will be a splendid selection of Pomes' both old and new.

"Her wry observations on the peculiarities of modern life will raise a smile from the most hardened cynic. She will make you laugh and make you think.

"This is an ideal evening for the whole family and every ticket sale will help to swell the charity donations made by the choir."

Awarded the MBE in 2004, Pam made her TV debut on ITV talent show Opportunity Knocks.

Since then she hasn't looked back. Her book sales to date have exceeded 2.5million worldwide and she even has a variety of lupin named after her.

Tickets cost £15 and are available from the hotline 01384 838863.
