Members from Dudley Kingswinford Running Club have had a busy couple of weeks right across the UK.

On March 11, Brian Russell and Colin Downey made the journey down south to Gloucestershire to take part in the Hogweed Hilly Half, finishing 59th in 1.41.03 and 161st in 1.56.36 respectively.

Closer to home, two DK runners competed in the Treat MT 8 near Stourport.

Richard Smith finished 35th in 58.19, and Neil Edwards was 52nd in 1.00.20.

Four runners made the journey across to Wales on Saturday to take part in the Rhayader Round the Lakes 20, a tough and hilly 20 mile race around the town of Rhayader and the Elan Valley reservoirs. All the DK runners who took part were using the race as marathon training for either London or Stratford marathons next month. Tim Evans performed well, finishing strongly in 143rd place, in 2.42.35. Joy Follis finished in 3.02.04 in 261st place, while Donna Turner was right behind her in 262nd place, 3.02.05. Lucy Cambridge followed four minutes later in 289th place in 3.06.30.

Finally, Sunday saw four more athletes taking part in the Ironbridge Half Marathon.

Andy Moorhouse was first home for the club in 199th position, in 1.46.35, followed by Mark Homer in 1.50.54, Andrew Weaver in 1.58.15 and Alex Vann in 1.59.46.
