The March meeting of the society took place on the 8. The chairman welcomed 40 members and 43 visitors.
The sad news was announced of the death of past chairman and president Fred Willetts and a minute's silence was held as a mark of respect.
It was also announced the AGM will be held on May 10 starting with a fish and chip supper followed by the formal meeting and then a slide show. The June evening trip will take place on June 14 when members will visit the Elgar Birthplace Museum preceded by a buffet meal at the Plough Inn. The cost will be £17. Names were also taken for the trip on August 4 to York.
The chairman introduced Trevor Genge who invited the audience to cum'n'av a loff' when he gave his talk Black Country Humour.
The April meeting of the society will take place on Thursday April 12 at 7.30 in the Community Centre, Wordsley Green when Len Crane will give a talk entitled Bratch Pumping Station and Fowler Steam Engine, including memories of Mr Crane's association with Fred Dibnah and their joint interests.
New members always welcome and visitors at a cost of £1.50 including light refreshments.
