On Tuesday March 6 the Annual General Meeting was held for the Wall Heath Horticultural Guild at the Community Centre.
Shirley Evans chaired the meeting. Carol Jones the guild secretary gave her annual report .
Jeff Jones the treasurer gave a financial report on the guild's financial situation and also gave each member a copy of the report. It has been decided that there will be no increase in subscriptions for the coming year as the club retains a healthy bank balance. This is due partly to the allotment shop which sells gardening products to all members. (The shop is based on The Richmond Park allotment site and is open on a sunday mornings from 10am until 12md.) Jeff also outlined that the speakers we have at meetings are becoming more expensive. Carol Jones is organising a trip which will be on June 21. The venue for the trip was outlined and more definite details will be available at the next meeting.
A cheese and wine event followed the meeting prepared by Joan Adams.
There was also a raffle organised by Jan Brockhouse with gifts supplied by members.
The next meeting is on Tuesday April 3 when there will be and talk and demonstration of daffodils and spring blooms. The speaker will be Richard Spiers accompanied by Derick Smith.
Anyone wishing to visit or join the group will be made welcome.
