CHILDREN in the Black Country who signed up to an award scheme will take part in a celebration ceremony.
The me2 award is the only project in the country which aims to make sure every child whether they are disabled or non-disbled have access to childcare and leisure facilities.
Games, sports, films and creative activities will form part of an event being held at Thorns Community College on Saturday March 31.
The me2 award enabled organisations which provide services for children, to sign up to make changes to their services in order to make them accessible to everyone.
Children and young people, both disabled and able-bodied made up a panel and took part in a final inspection to examine the organisations.
The panel had to comment on the organisations and then when in agreement give the award.
Dudley's me2 co-ordinator Keith Rogers said: "The me2 award is a very important project which has been going from strength to strength and this event is to celebrate the achievements of everyone involved in the process. The award ceremony will be a fantastic way of promoting truly inclusive services."
Me2 scheme was set up by Mencap and Dudley Council Early Years and Childcare team with funding from the Big Lottery Fund.
The celebration day will run from 10.30am to 2pm on Saturday March 31and will see 15 organisations receive the award.
