Promotion chasing Dudley-Kingswinford will set off on their 280-mile-round- trip east to struggling Scunthorpe in the hope of closing the gap on league leading Luton.

With only two games remaining of the regular season the Heathbrook outfit sit a solitary point behind the table toppers and will be hoping to gain promotion automatically rather than having to go through the play-offs.

D-K press officer, Peter Stinton, said: "We are determined to push Luton all the way and to do that I would imagine we will need to win both of our remaining fixtures.

"We have already beaten Scunthorpe comfortably at home this season and on paper we should be favourites to win again."

D-K secured a play-off slot after beating Dunstablians in their last outing although current results mean they will face an away day trip to Beverley.

Wins against Scunthorpe and Walsall however may mean they will be at home in the play-offs.

Peter added: "At present if we would have to travel away to Beverley in the play-offs because they have only lost five games compared to our six.

"With this in mind there's an added importance we win our remaining fixtures in the hope they slip up and we can get a home game in the play-offs."

D-K are expecting to face Scunthorpe with only skipper Peter Knight missing as he recovers from a knee injury.

l Stourbridge will be going in to their penultimate home game of the season against an in-form Cambridge without a host of key players.

Head coach, Neil Mitchell, is facing up to the fact he will be without captain Jim Jenner and Ben Gerry due to sevens action in Hong Kong as well as Marcus Cook who's concluding a Masters degree.

To add to his problems the coach is also sweating over the fitness of Ramsay Dean and Scott Witcomb who are both carrying injuries.

Mitchell is now calling on his remaining players to show their leadership skills.

He said: "We will be without a number of experienced players at the weekend and their leadership skills will be missed.

"I'm now calling on the remainder of the players to step up to the mark and show me they deserve the shirt.

"I'm expecting a tough test from an in-form Cambridge side so some players are going to have to show me some maturity."

The Stourton Park encounter will kick off at 3pm.
