Brierley Hill teenage swimming sensation, Lauren Collins, is hoping to make a real splash at next year's Olympics after making a remarkable start to 2007.
The 16-year-old has recently returned from The Queensland National Championships, In Australia, with one gold, four silver and one bronze medal.
The Heathfields student then followed this up by picking up gold medals in both the 100m and 200m freestyle finals at the WISE (Wales, Ireland, Scotland and England) International School Championships, in Dublin earlier this month.
The top freestyler is now ready to burst into the senior ranks having clocked some of the fastest times in the UK this year and with the Beijing Games still over a year away hopes are high she will be boarding the plane to China.
Proud mom, Julia Collins, said: "She's making tremendous progress as her results this year have proven.
"She's training really hard and this dedication is reaping the rewards.
"If she keeps improving there is a very good chance she could be in the British squad at next year's Olympics."
