STOURBRIDGE’S Tesco Extra store will be the location for another event aiming to raise money for the Stourbridge News Well of Life appeal.
Between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, June 20, the Crown Centre store will be hosting a bag packing event with students from Ridgewood High School.
The Wollaston school pupils will be packing the bags of Tesco customers, in return for a donation towards our appeal which is aiming to provide a solar-powered water pump and farmland irrigation system for the village of Sintet in The Gambia.
Jayne Budd, community champion for Tesco Stourbridge, said: “We have one bag pack a month so not to annoy customers but they all raise a good amount, which goes to show the generosity of our customers.
“I read about the Well of Life appeal in the Stourbridge News and I was really interested in how the paper is working alongside Ridgewood High School to help those in need.
“Hopefully we can raise as much money as possible to push the appeal total closer towards the target.”
