THE Hare and Hounds pub at Wollescote is hosting a charity fun day this Bank Holiday weekend.
The event, featuring live music, a disco, penalty shoot out and raffle, will take place on Sunday August 28, from around 1.30pm, and will raise money for stillborn and neonatal death charity Sands.
Pub regular Gavin Winsper, aged 30, of Wynall Lane, will also be gritting his teeth to undergo a full body wax at around 4pm – in memory of his daughter Scarlett-May who was stillborn at 38 weeks in 2013.
And it’s not the first time the gutsy building site labourer has braved the pain of having his legs, chest, arms and back waxed for the charity; he raised around £600 through a similar stunt at The Hasbury Inn in 2014.
Admission to the fun day is free.
