A 61-year-old man has been arrested by police after a small cannabis factory was found at his Stourton home.
Staffordshire Police entered the house on Bridgnorth Road with a warrant at about 8.30pm last night (Wednesday, April 12) and found 75 cannabis plants and about 14 ounces of dried cannabis ready to be sold in the residential garage.
The man, an occupant of the address, has since been arrested for production and cultivation of cannabis, and abstraction of electricity.
Officers say investigations into the incident, which are part of the force’s latest 50-50 operation, are ongoing, including drug analysis and valuation.
Inspector Giles Parsons, commander of the South Staffordshire local policing team, said: “Thanks must go to the public, who without their help today would not have been possible.
“Whether we receive the information directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers, my team of officers will always investigate it thoroughly and act where appropriate to stop crime in our local area.”
