STOURBRIDGE man Matt Glover is running the London Marathon this weekend - in aid of Edward's Trust.

Matt, aged 37, from Ham Lane, Pedmore, will be joining thousands of athletes and charity runners this Sunday (April 23) as they pound their way through the streets of the capital in the world famous 26-mile road race.

Sponsorship money raised will go to Edward's Trust in Birmingham which supports families surviving loss or facing bereavement.

Matt, who works for Unity Trust Bank in Birmingham, said he decided to support the charity "because they do fantastic work supporting families".

He told the News: "I decided to run for Edward's Trust after doing some charity work with them as part of our volunteering programme at Unity Trust.

"We pride ourselves as being a commercial bank with a social conscience and we all get five paid days a year volunteering and so we have supported Edward's Trust by helping to maintain their grounds as well as fundraising and we have plans to assist with projects in the future."

A spokesman for Edward's Trust said: "Any fundraising that takes place is key for us to continue our services to support over 600 families per year.

"Without people like Matt supporting we couldn't run our free one-to-one counselling service, our parental retreats or our wellbeing solutions that help families deal with their grief through holistic therapies.

"We are truly grateful for Matt supporting us."
